Have you ever wondered what it felt like to be high in the clouds? Located in Moultonborough, New Hampshire, the historic Castle in the Clouds estate is like none other. From the amazing views of the mountain-ringed Lake Winnipesaukee below to the 16-room mountaintop mansion, stone outbuildings and breathtaking water fountains around the property, this venue is the perfect location for your NH wedding ceremony. It’s also a great location for stunning wedding photos.

Nicknamed Lucknow, the 5,294-acre Craftsman-style Castle in the Clouds was built by millionaire shoe manufacturer Thomas Gustav Plant in 1913-1914. It was a gift for his second wife, Olive Cornelia Dewey. No one today is quite sure why Plant called the estate Lucknow, but some believe it might have been inspired by a poem written by his young wife. One could say their romance permeates this “high in the clouds” property.

This couple must have thought so as well for they chose to have their wedding there. As a wedding photographer, such a location is a dream come true. From the stables to the greenhouse, there are so many wonderful places to capture your wedding portraits, not only of the newlyweds but also of family and friends.
